Identify Arduino Component

This is the second article in our arduino article set.Today we will see what are the components of arduino board and what are their functions.

Arduno board Component


This is the usb port (1). The next longest chip you can see is the Atmel chip (2). The chip in the middle of the two converts the signals coming through the USB to the micro chip and uploads (3).

So this board has several ports that can supply power.

  • One of them is the USB port (1),
  • The second is the main power supply (4).
  • Ground port (5)
  • The other is the pin labeled VIN (6).
    The power we get goes to the chip through the power regulator (7), (8). The larger regulator is 5v and the smaller one is 3v.

This fuse is a resettable fuse (9). This means that if there is too much electricity, it will stop supplying that electricity to the board. But the specialty of this is that the board works normally after we re-install the electricity in the rocks. This gives the board a good protection.

The crystal is like the tablet in the middle. So this is what works with the clock on the chip. (10)

(11) This button restarts the board. That means the program on this board will stop and run again.
We can see another reset pin on this board. (12) After connecting the ground to this reset pin, it also works in the same way as the reset button mentioned earlier.

At the top of the board we can see a main component of this board (13). Here are 14 pins from 0 to 13. Those are digital pins. The first two pins are related to a basic function. They are transmit (T) and receive (R). These two pins are used in serial communication.
You may have noticed a small mark on these digital pins. Like he’s like. These are PWM pins.
At the bottom of the board you can see that there are several pins Power (14) and ANALOG IN (15). So let’s learn what we can do with this pin.

In the photo below there is a UNO board. But you can see the difference. So there are two main differences. They are,


1. This is not a big chip like we said before. As you can see, this is a small square chip. This is a service mode chip.
2. This board does not have a big USB port like before. As you can see, this is a mini usb port.

The other special fact is that the memory of this UNO board is 32 kilobytes (kb).

So let’s look at the next board.

Arduino MEGA

This board has 256 kb of memory. This is usually a large program but can work.
The other thing is on this board
Digital pin – 54
There are 16 analog pins.

This Arduino UNO board and MEGA have a 16 megahertz processor.

Arduino DUE


This board has an 84 megahertz processor and 512 kb of memory. As you can imagine, this board can do a lot more work than the board mentioned earlier.

Arduino pro mini.


This board can work at both frequencies ranging from 8 to 16 megahertz. This board has io pins similar to a UNO board. It can be introduced as a small board that can do a great job.

As we learned today, you will find more boards in the market. You can see the differences as well as the similarities mentioned on that board.
